Mountain View Cabins are conveniently located 1.5 km off the Trans-Canada Highway 1, just 20 km north-west of Golden BC.

Golden, Banff and Lake Louise all offer a great variety of hotels surrounded by highways, train tracks, hordes of tourists, hustle & bustle.  Yech!  That is NOT us!

Note that we are quite isolated BY INTENTION.  We want guests to have the opportunity to get away from the crowds in Banff and Lake Louise and to relax in a 'wilderness resort'.  The cabins are basic & rustic (although I prefer the term Rugged!), remote & wild.

You need your own vehicle to get here as we are unable to provide transportation from Golden.

Behind us we have the Rocky Mountains and across the valley we have great views of the Purcell Mountains. There is a mix of open pastures and dense forest surrounding our property.

From Golden, take the Trans-Canada west 18.5 km from the lights by the Tim Hortons at the west end of town. Turn right on to Forde Station Road and go up 1.5 km to the cabins.
From Vancouver, Forde Station Road is just a couple of kilometers past the bridge over the Columbia River (by the truck inspection station).

Forde Station Road is quite steep and twisting.  It is hard packed gravel (not paved).  However we regularly have tour buses come up the road so it is very doable.

If you are coming in the winter and there is a lot of snow, you may want to use Blaeberry School Road off of the Trans Canada Highway.  It is a school bus route which means it is a high priority for snow plows.  Take Blaeberry School Road to Golden Donald Upper Road and turn left.  Continue on Golden Donald Upper Road approx. 3.5 km to Forde Station Road where you turn left and continue about 300m to the cabins.

NOTE - We are quite isolated here in the mountains.  If you plan to use our kitchen area / BBQs, you should buy food before arriving.  It is about 20 minutes in to Golden from here.
